The motorcycles will be used by the Foundation’s volunteers to travel around the forests in the western part of Thailand to coordinate activities with villagers, under the “Joint Management of Protected Area” Project, to restore and protect the forests as an important natural resource of Thailand.
The “Joint Management of Protected Area” Project was established by the Seub Nakhasathien Foundation and the National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department, which has four years for implementation and is financially supported by a grant from the Government of Denmark. The Foundation has worked with officials about the conservation of the western forest and 55 communities, covering six provinces, with an aim to encourage forest conservation management with community participation. In the future, the implementation of the project will be expanded to cover 100 communities in Thailand’s western forest.
